WordPress Boot Camp

Come learn how to work on a WordPress website! Roughly 1 out of every 3 websites is a WordPress site. This boot camp will teach you how to jump right into the most popular content-management system for creating and maintaining websites and blogs. We'll begin with a brief overview of the components to having a website. Then we'll focus most of our time on how to develop and edit a WordPress website, including appearances and themes, menus, sidebars, headers and footers. We'll discuss what plug-ins and widgets are and the role they play with WordPress. We'll get right to work creating pages and posts and adding categories and tags. You'll also learn about the development hub for the WordPress editor, Gutenberg. The entire course is search-engine optimization (SEO) focused and Shane will teach you basic tips and tricks to help improve your sites SERP. Addressing security concerns, we'll discuss passwords, user management, and updates (themes, plug-ins, and core). Before the daylong session ends, we'll leave time for hands on work on your own site or our test site.
