Piano/Organ Concert in Yarmouth Port

Organist Brian Jones and pianist David McGrory return to the Audience Room of the Yarmouth New Church on Sunday, September 8th, for a concert featuring the community center’s 1872 William H. Clarke tracker pipe organ and vintage Steinway piano. David McCrory The concert, at 5 p.m., will include duets and solos by Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Ravel, Walther, Nevin and Demarest. It will last about an hour. Jones leads the Boston-based semi-professional choir, The Copley Singers, and is the Emeritus Director of Music at Trinity Church, Copley Square, Boston. McGrory, who is originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland, has a wealth of compositional and piano performance experience. The Yarmouth New Church was built in 1870 as a Swedenborgian church but is now owned by a nonprofit foundation and operated as a community center. The Audience Room has been restored to its 19th-century decorative style and has excellent acoustics for music. Seating is limited. All proceeds will be used to defray the cost of maintaining the Tracker organ.
