Event Description:
The winter of 2023-34 included a hurricane, Nor’easter, windstorms, and a tornado resulting in power outages for many in our community. Chip Reilly, Emergency Preparedness Director for Barnstable County, will share best practices for preparing for storms and floods this upcoming fall and winter. In his workshop you will learn: How to build an emergency kit Emergency Preparedness for Individuals with Disabilities and Access and Functional Needs Safety tips for sheltering in place How to support your family and neighbors before, during, and after a storm The program is free and open to the public. Older adults and caregivers of others are encouraged to attend.
