Presented by the Cultural Center of Cape Cod on Thursday, January 25, at 7:30pm and Friday, January 26, at 7:30pm. Join us as renowned pianists Ana Glig and James Rosenblum play concertos together and separately on two pianos set up side by side in the Cultural Center's Great Hall. James will be playing Chopin: Piano Concerto no. 2 in F minor and Ana will be playing Liszt: Piano Concerto no.1 in E-flat major. Ana Glig (a.k.a. Gligvashvili) and James Rosenblum are individually accomplished pianists who are also a married couple. Together, they have performed duo repertoire at various concert series in Cape Cod, and most recently performed with the Cape Symphony in November 2022. Ana Glig has performed widely in the United States and Europe in solo and chamber settings. As an orchestra soloist, Glig performed Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto with Evgeni Mikeladze and the Rishon LeZion Symphonic Orchestras in Israel and Georgia. Prize winner of the Tel-Hai International Piano Concerto Competition and Georgian Musician-Performers Competition, Glig is a recipient of the Alfred Cortot prize for the best interpretation of romantic music at the Tbilisi International Competition. Glig holds a master's degree in piano performance from Mannes School of Music, The New School, she also holds an Advanced Certificate in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from The York University (NYU Steinhardt) and a bachelor's degree from Tbilisi State Conservatory (Republic of Georgia). Glig is a teaching artist at Cape Symphony and music director at First United Methodist Church in Chatham, Massachusetts. James Rosenblum has studied piano with teachers including Julian Martin from the Juilliard School, Arkady Aronov from the Manhattan School of Music, Melvin Chen from Yale and Bard College, Tomer Lev from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Israel, Jean-David Coen at the Aspen Music Festival, and childhood teacher Myrna Lyons. As a musician with a dual career as an attorney, he participated in the Cliburn Amateur Competition in 2022, and was a finalist in the 2016 Chicago Amateur Competition and 2016 WQXR Classical Moonlighters Competition. He has also performed in New York, New Jersey, Colorado, Cape Cod, the Republic of Georgia, and Israel. He has been the music director at Truro First Parish Church since 2019, and, since the fall of 2022, is currently the interim music director at the Barnstable Unitarian Church. James graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in Political Science, and from Columbia Law School with a Juris Doctor degree. $25 or $40 for both performances.
