Event Description:
Join us on Saturday, April 6, at 11:00 am at the South Yarmouth Library for an author talk and reading by Cape poet Jarita Davis. Her poem “Another Homecoming” is included in the 2024 anthology of contemporary Black American poets, This Is The Honey, edited by Kwame Alexander, an award-winning poet and writer for children. All are welcome; no need to register. Davis writes fiction as well as poetry and holds a B.A in classics from Brown University, and an M.A. and Ph.D in creative writing from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette. Her work has appeared in the Southwestern Review, Historic Nantucket, Cave Canem Anthologies, Crab Orchard Review, Plainsongs, Verdad Magazine, and Cape Cod Poetry Review. Her first poetry collection Return Flights was published by Tagus Press in March 2016. She lives and writes in West Falmouth.
